And you're right about tripping over stuff. I've got 35 acres and I'm tripping over domestic aluminium, so it's going today. I've got about 165 kilo of many used sheet ally and that takes space. Probably got as much or more of extruded but it's down 33% so I'll keep sitting on it. At least it stacks better.

My workshop & storage is 16 square metres. A friend is using 6 sqm (was supposed to be 3 months... 18 months later it's still there) and I'm a bit of a grub & a hoarder, so things are fairly tight.

My work colleague took a few kg to his scrap yard last week. Aluminium seems to be holding on and he got 10c/kg for light iron.

I'm hoping prices don't get too bad. I'm in the process of scrapping out a 3 phase ups which has about 500kg of transformers in it plus the copper.

Cu pipe covered in paint (they called it burnt copper but it's not the first time they've stuffed up) - $6.30/kg
